This week the Arctic city of Tromsø is filled with international dignitaries, Ministers, scientists and companies, all participating and contributing to an interesting conference program.
KSAT had been a contributing partner since the last 3 years and will be present all week.
Monday and Tuesday is dedicated to plenary sessions with high level panels and discussions, chaired by Stephen Sackur, known from HARDTalk, with a focus on policy, knowledge, ocean health and smart Arctic societies. Wednesday and Thursday´s programs offer presentations on the latest findings in environmental, technological and social research in the region.
The session “Emerging Technologies and Innovation for Arctic Conditions in Offshore Petroleum and Maritime Industries”, organised by Arctic Frontiers, the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, and the Research Council of Norway, will take place on Wednesday morning.
Hans Eilif Larsen, Project Manager at KSAT will present the Gonzales (PETROMAKS2) project where KSAT and NORUT Northern Research Institute are exploring the possibilities for satellite imagery streamlining and smart processing, improving timeline and quality of analysis by using AI and machine learning.
