Viksund Boats sign for NavStation

Norwegian premium boat builder, Viksund Boats, signed a contract with Simrad on Friday 26th November for the supply of the new NavStation® CX44. The CX44 will be standard fit on all Viksund boats for at least the next two years, providing advanced electronic navigation capabilities for these popular motorboats.

This is the first major contract relating to the new Simrad NavStation family, which was launched to the marine industry at METS 2004 and will be unveiled to the public at Schroders London Boat Show 2005. The contract specifies the supply of approx. 65 units a year, all of which will feature a base GPS Chartplotter model with C-MAP MAX performance cartography, and powerful radar functionality.

Viksund Boats is one of Norway's largest suppliers of leisure and workboats and is based in a modern and practical factory, just outside of Bergen. The St. Cruz motorboat and Sjark workboats both provide excellent sea handling and can be found on waters across the world from Scandinavia to Africa and the Mediterranean. NavStation is a powerful navigation system that incorporates Chartplotter, Radar and Echosounder in one sophisticated package. The core NavStation family features the 7%u201D screen CX34, the 10%u201D screen CX44 and the CX54 with a 15%u201D screen. Starting as an advanced Chartplotter, NavStation can be easi ly updgraded with Simrad Radar antennas and Echosounder transducers to provide a Total Navigation Solution, which increases navigation performance and safety at sea.
