Contracts worth roughly MNOK 90

For the fourth time in the past year, Kongsberg Simrad has landed a major contract for tanker automation systems for LNG carriers. Moreover, Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems won a contract to deliver integrated bridge navigation systems for the same vessels. Covering four vessels to be built in South Korea, the contracts are worth roughly MNOK 90.

"These contracts are a prime example of what our companies can achieve by working together in the maritime area", remarks President Torfinn Kildal of Kongsberg Maritime.

The four vessels are being built for Exmar, A. P. Møller and British Gas, and will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea. The contract was landed in the face of keen international competition, where years of good co-operation between the shipyard and Kongsberg Simrad was a decisive factor. In addition to the four vessels ordered, the contracts include several options.

Kongsberg Simrad and Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems are among the world's leading players within maritime electronics and information technology. Kongsberg Simrad has specialised in Offshore and Subsea, while Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems targets the world's commercial fleet. Altogether, the two companies employ more than 1500 of Kongsberg Gruppen's 4000 employees.
