1967

Inauguration of the Tromsø Telemetry Station

KSAT was established in 2002, but our journey began already in 1967 when the Tromsø Telemetry Station was inaugurated.

After decades of business in a high pressure, extremely challenging environment, with ground-breaking achievements, we can now celebrate more than 50 years of delivering excellence.

1968

First contact with an operational satellite (ESRO-2B)

1997

Svalbard Satellite Station established

In the fall of 1997 first operational satellite pass was accessed by the newsly installed SG-1 antenna at the KSAT Svalbard Ground Station, or Svalsat as it then was called.

2002

KSAT established by NRS and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace

2007

Troll Satellite Station operational

In 2007, KSAT started operation of the TrollSat station near the South Pole in Dronning Maud Land on Antarctica.

2015

KSAT Lite installed at Svalsat and Trollsat
