CEO Walter Qvam appointed Chairman of the DNV Council

“I look forward to taking over as Chairman of the DNV  Council. DNV is a fantastic organisation that plays an important and valuable role in relation to safety and the environment worldwide,” says Mr Qvam about his new position in DNV (Det Norske Veritas).
Walter Qvam holds an MSc in Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now the Norwegian University of Science and Technology). He was employed by DNV from 1980-1994, and has later been Deputy CEO of the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) and CEO and Chairman of the Board of Capgemini in Norway. He established the consulting company Bene Agere before taking over as CEO of KONGSBERG in 2007.

Leif-Arne Langøy was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of DNV. DNV’s CEO, Henrik O. Madsen, is very positive about the election of such high calibre individuals, willing to commit their time to DNV and its governance. "Walter Qvam knows DNV very well from the inside. He has worked for DNV for 14 years and has also been stationed abroad for us. Together, these two will play a key role in further developing DNV,” says Mr Madsen.
