"This is an excellent venue for networking with our Chinese partners," says Kjetil Lund, Managing Director, KM China.

As one of the main sponsors of the Norwegian pavilion, KONGSBERG is able to use the exhibition to build stronger relationships with customers and other key groups. Expo 2010 is very popular in China. By the end of October, the organizers hope that up to 3.4 million people have gotten a taste of Norwegian nature, culture and life.

"We have received very good feedback from people we have brought here to the Norwegian Pavilion. As one of the main sponsors we are able to offer VIP entrance and avoid the long queue outside," explains Kjetil Lund.

KONGSBERG makes itself visible on the EXPO, through arranging KONGSBERG-days with different themes:

  • Fishery
  • Underwater Technology
  • Environment Surveillance

China and the Far East is a very important market for KONGSBERG.

"China is now the fastest-growing shipbuilding market in the world. It is important both on the merchant side as well as on the offshore side. China is also a very important country for us related to production and sourcing. The plan is actually that China will become the production hub for KONGSBERG to the Asian market and that is what we are building up here," explains Kjetil Lund.
